Code Pink disrupts Trump speech at Omni Shoreham

On the 10th of June, Donald Trump spoke before the “Road to Majority” conference, an event sponsored by the allegedly faith-based far-right group Concerned Women for America. Outside, protesters called out the hypocrisy of this, given that all major religions condemn the kind of xenophobia and hate Trump is peddling. About ten minutes into Trump’s speech, Code Pink activists disrupted him and were expelled by force.

Concerned Women for America is a notorious hate group themselves, notorious for anti-Gay activism as far back as the 1980’s. Trump repeated the far-right/theocrat talking point claiming Christians are the globally persecuted minority. It is interesting that Concerned Women for America would host Trump, as this indicates the thoecratic wing of the GOP is now kissing Trump’s ass. The Bible itself may contain a condemnation of this. There are those who believe that story of Sodom and Gemorrah cited so often by groups like Concerned Women for America may have actually been written to condemn inhospitality to travellers(strangers), which in traditional desert culture was and is a serious offense that can threaten the lives of those on the move.
