11 arrests at 2nd civil disobediance in two days at Solomons construction site for gas export

On the 4th of November, activists opposing building a fracked gas export facility at Cove Point staged the second civil disobediance in two days at Solomons, MD. Six activists entered the construction site for the pier needed to unload equipment for Cove Point and climbed to the top of the highest dirt pile on the site with a banner before being arrested. There were five other arrests including two photographers.

The Solomons construction site is for an unloading pier at which to move very heavy machinery for the LNG export facility at Cove Point from barges to trucks.

SEED reported the arrests of the two photographers, I did not see those arrests and do not know how it happened. The cumulative total of arrests at FERC, at the Solomons construction site, and at Seneca Lake, NY now stands at 60. Another group of 64 activists was arrested Monday in Vermont at yet another fracking related site, bringing the total to 124 arrests in a still ongoing week of action.
