Funk the War invades Union Station

On the 12th of September, DC area antiwar activists held the first “Funk the War” in years. This time around, with rain coming down and a smaller group than the big 2008-2010 events, a new tactic was needed. At first, the event was held outside Union Station, cops were told it was only a dance party, not a protest. After nearly 40 minutes, the entire party was moved to the top of the Metro escalators inside Union Station’s roofed over but open air section. A feint towards the doors of the inner building reminded cops that they were getting off easy, and they took no action to disrupt the dancers.
