1 detained as postal workers, Occupy protest postal cuts and union busting

On the 28th of June, Occupy DC and Occupy Caravan activists marched on the headquarters of the US Postal Service, where Postmaster General and CEO Patrick Donahoe is pushing reducing mail deliveries from 6 days to 5 along with the usual cutbacks and union busting bullshit. It’s bad enough that several postal workers were on a 4 day hunger strike in front of the USPS headquarters. As Occupy arrived, the union had a spirited rally already going to support the hunger strikers.

At the climax of the rally, union members and occupiers advanced on the building with the stated intention of arresting postmaster general Donahoe for stealing from postal workers. One person was detained and later released, unfortunately not Donahoe.
