Stop the Machine swarms, shuts down the Hart Senate Office Building-6 arrested
On the 11th of October, as Congress returned from celebrating Colombus’s genocide of Native American people, about 100 protesters from the Stop the Machine encampment at Freedom Plaza swarmed into the Hart Senate Office Building. They dropped a banner saying “Tax the Rich” and other banners, then started chanting.

This high atrium of the building rang with chants such as “we are the 99%” until the Capitol Police were able to arrest 6 of the protesters and force out the rest. As of a little after noon the Hart Senate Office Building was reported CLOSED as a result.
Protesters vowed “we will not be ignored” and having gotten the ear of both TV 7 News and even Faux News, it seems they are right!
