BAG SEARCHES TO ENTER RIDERS ADVISORY COUNCIL HEARING ON BAG SEARCHES!
On Jan 3, Metro’s Rider’s Advisary Council had a special public forum on Metro-s bag searches-and bags were searched just to enter the meeting! I refused to pass through the checkpoint, telling Metro “Don’t Touch my Junk!”
To hold a meeting about bag searches in a building that requires bag searches and passing through a metal detector to enter excludes the very voices that are the most opposed to searches of the general public.
Due to the subject matter of the meeting, it should either have been held in another location of a room in the building on the first floor set aside for a meeting without checkpoints, then searched after everyone had left for anything left behind.
