HLS/Fortress demo catches Goldman-Sachs staff out for fire drill

The Seige of Fortress continues. On August 24,protesters showed up at the DC offices of Goldman-Sachs, at 101 Constitution Ave NW and found everyone outside and the fire alarm ringing as they approached!

This comes just three days after a Goldman-Sachs attorney received a protest at his home, again over Goldman-Sach’s major ownership stake in Fortress, which has been called “the life support system of HLS.”

After the Goldman-Sach’s protest which lasted about 45 minutes, protesters showed up at the offices of Nomura (1101 Penn Ave NW), a corporation which owns 15% of Fortress and shares a director on their board. An absent receptionist allowed protesters to penetrate all the way to the office at Nomura.

Finally, Bayer and Astra-Zenica, two notorious HLS customers at 701 Penn Ave NW, received their usual morning office demos.

HLS or Huntingdon Life Sciences was facing imminent bankruptcy until Fortress made $100M plus in loans to them. HLS is a puppy-killing contract animal research lab where undercover investigators have caught “researchers” punching beagle puppies in the face and cutting up live monkeys with no painkillers. Most corporations won’t touch HLS anymore because of the protests, but Fortress give them big bucks when most banks won’t even give them a checking account.
